We have routine Podiatry treatments for general skin and nail care at Coastal Podiatry at the Sandbanks Clinic. Podiatry treatments involve a general check over of your foot and lower limb health. General treatments can involve, nail cutting and trimming, reduction of thickened toe nails, re-shaping of nails and and clearance of side debris (sulci) to restore shape and balance.
Hard skin, calluses over joints and your heels, on tips and tops of toes, can be pared down with scalpel reduction and corns can also be removed by this method. We also have access to micro burrs and skin burrs and discs to help the process. This is especially beneficial in clients with cracked heels. Emolients (skin creams), are often applied post treatment to restore the skin and add flexibility and hydration.
Finally. we give advice on your footwear, your foot health and sometimes we may recommend in-shoe supports such as simple cushioned insoles all the way through to 3D Print custom made arch supports.
