Podiatry is the branch of medicine that deals with assessment, diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the foot and lower leg. We provide services for routine skin and nail care, verrucae, diabetic and arthritic feet through to active persons and athletes to children’s foot screening, to specially crafted orthotic insoles. With a history and a passion in functional movement, we specialise in gait analysis and biomechanics of the foot and lower leg. We can provide prescription custom orthotics. We take a strong interest in falls prevention in our senior population and will offer footwear advice for safe, comfortable and effective walking. We can work closely with other professionals in pre and post surgical assessments and advice.
We view every patient, no matter age or health status as having a right to move, and to move pain free, we all have individual needs. The human body at its core is made to move so we are really all natural athletes no matter the speed you move. Healthy movement is key and the feet are the foundation of the body. We will provide a GP/orthopaedic or other health care referral service as and when required. A multi-disciplinary inter professional service is part of general medical practice.
